ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an exceptional Electrical Engineer / Development Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate would bring relevant experience and a structured, yet entrepreneurial, approach to developing a pipeline of high-quality projects across the United States.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Chaberton engineering team to prepare and review high quality and optimized solar designs in a timely manner.
  • Audit and advance the development of assigned projects to construction-ready status.
  • Prepare and audit electrical utility interconnection applications and study processes across portfolio.
  • Conduct “bankable” productivity modeling via PVSyst.
  • Implement and improve solar/electrical design and performance testing standards.
  • Compile and deliver constraints maps, site plans, and layouts (kmz, CAD, GIS).
  • Coordinate outside engineering consultants and contractors; including bidding, contracting, and reviewing deliverables.
  • Maintain relationships with key equipment vendors and contractors.
  • Identify and implement path-forward methodologies to technical design hurdles; contribute to the team’s technical accuracy initiatives.
  • Create and steward engineering projects, including planset deliverables, schedule, and budget.
  • Work independently, with the project team, and with outside parties such as landowners, public agencies, equipment vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Support commercial and marketing efforts for assigned projects.
  • Plan, lead, and monitor “long lead” procurement activities (these are normally restricted to long lead items such as transformers, certain other electrical equipment, and potentially solar panels).
  • Prepare presentations for project reviews and decision-making meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in electrical engineering/similar degree, or comparable experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training designation or comparable experience.
  • >>If relying on comparable experience for either of above, make this clear in your resume/cover letter.
  • At least 3 years’ full-time experience in either a project engineering or project management role.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to summarize complex issues and convey information effectively.
  • Able to create, review, and interpret technical documents and construction drawings.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Resourceful, curious, and proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Able to collaborate with multiple disciplines including sales, engineering, permitting, and project origination.
  • Strong work ethic / desire to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner and meet / exceed milestones.
  • Proficient using Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Revit), Excel, MS Teams, and MS Project (or similar).
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Engineer license, particularly in states with a community solar program.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in renewable energy in either a project engineering or project management role.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in solar industry.
  • Demonstrated success with direct impact on successfully reaching COD on solar projects Proficiency modeling solar productivity using PVSyst to include effects of topography and other factors on shading; able to describe pros/cons to various layouts and how to optimize project value.
  • Experience with solar industry engineering tools, such as: Google Earth, GIS tools, PVSyst, PVWatts, Helioscope, and AutoCAD plug-ins.
  • Successfully obtained / supported obtaining utility interconnection approvals/interconnection agreements or similar.
  • >>List specific utility experience and role(s).
  • Experience implementing or improving solar project designs or project management processes.
  • Power systems analysis using industry standard simulation software (SKM, eTap, EasyPower, etc.).
  • Understand latest trends in solar/solar+storage design and implications for distributed generation.

SALARY & BENEFITS

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an exceptional Intern to join our Commercial Operations team to drive the energy transition in Community and C&I solar segments. The ideal candidate would bring a structured, yet entrepreneurial, approach to supporting our team in their efforts to develop a pipeline of high-quality commercial projects in select markets. The Commercial team drives the front-end marketing, identification, and site control of prospective project sites, including the preparation of real estate matters for sites during the pre-development stage.

The ideal candidate brings excellent communication and organization, analytical skills, a deep interest in renewable energy development, and a drive for the energy transition in this fast-growing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and organize information on authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and utilities; provide critical flaw analysis of projects in new markets.
  • As assigned, pro-actively monitor policy activities at the state, county, and local levels.
  • Collaborate on the identification of prospective sites through analyzing the electric grid infrastructure on mapping software.
  • Support with critical administrative tasks such as compiling mailers, scanning, recording, and filing original real estate documents.
  • Prepare and send applications, forms, and other documentation associated with project development.
  • Assist in the preparation of real estate agreements and associated exhibits.
  • Organize and maintain real estate documents and files, conduct quality control review of real estate documents.
  • Assist in sending various notices and other communications to landowners and other stakeholders.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret land records and perform real estate title due diligence.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying and reporting potential clients, industry competitors and updated industry policies, regulations, and advancements.
  • Assist with project management tasks such as conducting market research to identify project feasibility and/or prospective stakeholder background research.
  • Gain understanding and record activity within the Salesforce database.
  • Collaborate across teams in the planning and development of sites, including assisting the Marketing team on various projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Current enrollment in an accredited University or 2+ years of experience with basic computer knowledge and office skills.
  • Desire to manage, administer, and understand contracts and records.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current enrollment as Class of 2025 or 2026 in an accredited University or 3+ years of experience with basic computer knowledge and office skills. 
  • Current university student majoring in Communications, Marketing, GIS Systems/Urban Planning or similar area of study preferred or individual with 3+ years of general work experience or exposure within these disciplines. 
  • 1+ year experience in physical and digital data management/optimization.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Chaberton’s legal team offers comprehensive legal and commercial support to all internal business teams, playing a crucial role in the company’s business strategy, transactions, and operations. The team is composed of business-minded professionals with legal expertise. We are seeking an enthusiastic Legal Intern who is eager to:

  • Demystify Legal Documents – Simplify complex legal language and translate it into clear, actionable insights for internal teams.

  • Support Compliance Efforts – Help ensure that all teams adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and business standards.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the renewable energy transition, possesses strong writing and communication skills, is adept with AI-powered tools, and brings a structured, creative, and entrepreneurial approach to their work. A strong desire for continuous improvement and learning is essential for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contracts  
    • Support management of Company’s contract lifecycle, from intake through review, negotiation, execution and administration using SpotDraft AI-enabled contract management system.    
    • Support management of Company’s incoming and outgoing NDAs and work through proposed changes. 
    • With assistance from the Legal team, develop comprehensive contract playbooks that guide stakeholders through specific contract types (such as leases, vendor contracts, and NDAs), negotiations of these contracts, and SpotDraft workflows for these contracts, negotiations, and processes. 
    • Develop training materials and coordinate cross-functionally to provide guidance to stakeholders on using contract playbooks and processes. 
  • Compliance 
    • Review the Company’s compliance policies to assess whether such policies address identified risk areas. 
    • Support development of implementation plan to address any gaps identified from review of compliance areas. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current university student majoring in Philosophy, Economics, Business, English, Liberal Arts or similar area of study.
  • Desire to learn and aid in the legal aspects of project development.
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organized, critical thinker, with high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member; innovative mindset to operate as an important contributor within a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High-flying, rising 2L student enrolled in an ABA-accredited JD Program or recently graduated LLM student (not currently licensed in any US jurisdiction).
  • An individual with at least 2 years of experience within the law or legal industry.
  • Enthusiastic about use of technology (esp. legal technology) to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve legal practice.
  • Experience with reviewing and negotiating contracts.
