August 30, 2021 – Chaberton Energy is excited to announce a unanimous 5-0 approval from the -Board of Appeals Public Hearing in Cecil County on August 24th granting special exception to build a 58-acre solar facility in the Chesapeake area. This exciting result followed a similar, unanimous 5-0 approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearing on August 16th.
This project will utilize the land to co-locate a community solar facility and additional ANEM solar facilities. The goal of this project is to provide access to clean and affordable energy to local residents and businesses in the area.
Furthermore, the installation of a pollinator habitat within the facility will promote local pollinators and improve crop quality and yield for farms located up to a 5-mile radius surrounding the habitat!
This project was initially developed by, and inherited from, our colleagues at Freepoint Solar and SunEast Development. Chaberton Energy is honored and thrilled for the opportunity to bring the vision to fruition.
